The complete details of Garmin‘s significant March 2024 update for a number of smartwatches have just been released. That being said, the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Epix 2 Pro, Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Pro, MARQ Gen2, and Quatix 7 are already running upgraded firmware, according to the company. Garmin has returned to its beta program, which is still available for registration and free of charge.
Garmin notes in a forum post that the 16.xx development phase comes to an end with the release of the latest update, which is Beta 17.10. Please take note that Beta Version 17.10 removes ECG functionality. According to Garmin, ECG functionality on beta releases is probably going to stay blocked until at least the end of Q2 2024. Furthermore, according to the corporation, Beta Version 17.10 won’t be distributed automatically.
Instead, it must be triggered manually by heading to Menu, System, Software Update and then tapping Check For Updates. By Garmin’s count, Beta 17.10 contains 21 changes from Software Version 16.22. Seemingly, the company has not included GPS, Wireless, Sensor Hub and MARQ 2 Sensor Hub updates that ship with Beta Version 17.10 too.
