After a number of leaks over the previous few days, Appuals has finally released official product photographs that seem to validate the specifications of the low-cost smartphone. The huge, circular camera module and flat frame of the smartphone are almost the same as those of the Redmi A3, which is to be expected given the device’s ultramodern appearance.
The Redmi logo has been swapped out for the straightforward “POCO” branding by Xiaomi, but the functions have remained largely unchanged. Considering the price, this is not at all surprising. A 6.71-inch IPS display with a 90 Hz frame rate, but only 1650 x 720 pixels of resolution and 500 nits of peak brightness, is allegedly installed by Xiaomi. The now-old Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen from scratches.
The 5 MP selfie camera sits in a notch, while the gigantic camera module on the back only houses a single 8 MP main camera and a useless 0.08 MP sensor. A 3.5 mm headphone jack can be seen at the top, while the USB-C port is located at the bottom of the smartphone. The battery can be charged with up to 10 watts via this port.
Inside the Poco C61 is a MediaTek Helio G36, a 12 nm entry-level chip from last year that has eight ARM Cortex-A53 efficiency cores with clock speeds of up to 2.2 GHz. The Xiaomi Poco C61 will be available with either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB to 128 GB of flash storage, and will be launched on the market at prices starting at around $90.
