One thing is certain after all the speculation about the Galaxy Z Fold6 and its rumored slimmed-down sister model, the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE or Galaxy A Fold: Samsung will most likely debut not just the Galaxy Z Fold6, but also two foldable models alongside the Galaxy Z Flip6, most likely in July 2024. It’s presently unknown whether there will be a third variety, a Lite or Ultra model for the second variant, or maybe both.
Now, thanks to the Dutch Galaxy Club, another detail has emerged that fits the theory of a Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra. At the moment, we cannot guarantee with certainty that this is not an April Fool’s joke, but the original article from the Galaxy Club was published on March 31, so it should be safe from the sneaky pranks that usually befall April 1.
According to the Dutch, in addition to the expected model number of the Galaxy Z Fold6 (SM-F956), there is also the SM-F958. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Club does not reveal where this was spotted.
The difference, namely an 8 instead of a 6 at the end, speaks for an Ultra variant because only “Ultra phones” from Samsung have had an 8 at the end thus far, such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra (with the model number SM-S928). What is strange, however, according to the report, is that this model number of the supposed Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra only exists as a variant for South Korea, i.e., as SM-F958N, and not yet for Europe or the USA. Hence, it cannot be ruled out that the high-end foldable will be released exclusively in Samsung’s home country.
