The Zenfone 11 Ultra’s design and other details have been leaked once again. While the Zenfone 11 Ultra from ASUS boasts top-tier specs like a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 flash storage, it’s also possible that this is the last of the company’s small flagship models.
About a week after the Zenfone 11 made its appearance on the Google Play Console, images and hardware specifications of ASUS’ upcoming Zenfone-branded smartphone have leaked online. Before that, rumors circulated that ASUS was getting ready for the release of the Zenfone 11 Ultra, the focus of the most recent Zenfone-related leak.
Redditor u/Td3v1l claims that the ROG Phone 8’s most recent firmware contained the pictures embedded below. Though uncommon, this would not be the first time a manufacturer supplied firmware from one gadget that was actually intended for a another, unreleased model. In any case, the Zenfone 11 Ultra, but with modified packaging, has the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset as the ROG Phone 8 (now available for $999 on Amazon).
On the one hand, ASUS has designed the Zenfone 11 Ultra in five colour options compared to the Phantom Black and Rebel finishes in which the company sells the ROG Phone 8 series. On the other hand, the Zenfone 11 Ultra lacks the RGB lighting or AniMe Vision LEDs that adorn the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro, respectively. Ultimately, all other Zenfone 11 Ultra specifications mirror the ROG Phone 8 series, such as the former’s display, battery capacity and cameras.
In short, the Zenfone 11 Ultra will be the first Zenfone flagship to surpass a 6-inch display threshold in three years. For context, the Zenfone 8 Flip was the last to do so with its 6.67-inch panel, which it carried over from the Zenfone 7 series.
Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether the standard Zenfone 11 will maintain the sub-6-inch displays of the Zenfone 8, Zenfone 9 and Zenfone 10. Likewise, there is no indication yet when ASUS will unveil the Zenfone 11 series, although MWC 2024 at the end of February seems like a viable candidate.
