With the Cybertruck, Tesla appears to be having trouble breaking even. Owners of Cybertrucks were reportedly experiencing catastrophic breakdowns soon after receiving their trucks, as Notebookcheck revealed just last week. As a result, safety concerns have reportedly led Tesla to halt Cybertruck deliveries altogether.
Tesla appears to have put a seven-day hold on all Cybertruck purchases in order to address a part safety concern, as reported by The Cybertruck Guy and several other accounts on X (previously Twitter). Considering the vast majority of Cybertrucks visible in waiting in recent drone imagery from the Tesla gigafactory, replacing the pertinent parts on all of the impacted Cybertrucks in the production queue will be necessary. This may be an enormous undertaking.
More frustrating for potential Cybertruck buyers is that there doesn’t seem to be an official consensus on what the problem with the Cybertruck is. According to one user on X, Tesla’s own service centres don’t even have a clear picture as to why the Cybertruck production is on hold, and of course, Tesla famously isn’t very communicative with the press, making it difficult to shut down speculation about the production pause.
📐As of today, it appears Tesla has placed a hold on ALL Cybertruck deliveries nationwide.
This is a proactive safety-related pause. All trucks are stopped in their current position.
I've seen reports on a steering column module service bulletin (link in replies), as well as a…
