GOG, the CD Projekt-owned gaming retailer, is collaborating with Amazon Luna to venture into the cloud gaming space. You may play the games you’ve bought from the store on any device that is compatible, including PCs, Macs, Android and iOS smartphones, smart TVs, and Fire tablets, because the Luna cloud service streams games from Amazon’s cloud servers. That is, assuming you have an internet connection and the Luna app loaded on those devices. Additionally, you will be able to play your games with any controller or device that is compatible with Luna, including Xbox One and PS4.
As long as the games are also available on Luna, you can play any titles you own on GOG’s platform, according to their release. The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 are among the games that the CD Projekt subsidiary has verified are included; however, if you currently have access to Amazon’s cloud streaming service, you can see whether your other games are available as well. Be aware that you are not need to visit GOG in order to purchase a game if you find one you wish to play within the Luna client. Each game you buy from Luna will show up in your GOG library if it is available on both platforms. Even if you purchase from Luna, your downloads will stay DRM-free, and you’ll be able to use GOG Galaxy features, such as cloud saves and achievements.
The collaboration isn’t quite live yet, and the companies have yet to announce when it’ll be available other than it’s coming “soon.” Access to it will be limited to regions where Luna is available, however, namely in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
