It doesn’t seem like the Philips Hue app has a feature that lets users know how many lights are on in a zone or room. Customers used to see banners in the app’s Home screen that said things such, “All lights are on,” or “2 lights are on,” within the room. The room name and the brightness adjustment slider would be separated by the note.
The missing feature from the Philips Hue app was spotted by Hueblog.de reader Yoshi, with several users confirming the same issue and suggesting that they found the information helpful. However, it appears that only customers managing their smart home devices via the iOS app are affected, with Android users indicating that they still see the note. It could be that this change occurred during the latest iOS app update, version 5.12.0, which arrived on March 6th with “various bug fixes and stability improvements”. A corresponding software for Android does not appear to have rolled out; the previous update here was on February 8th to version 5.10.0.
Signify has yet to comment on the change to the iOS app, leaving customers uncertain whether the feature will reappear in the future. It remains to be seen whether the next Philips Hue Android app update will also remove this additional information from the Home page.
